One Thing Off My List

knitting lessonFor over 1o years, I have wanted to learn how to do a specific craft. Once I had everything all set up to learn, but I was admitted to the hospital. Then I had three little boys running around and didn’t seem to have enough time.

In the last few years, my perspective on life has changed. I used to be so task oriented that my day was scheduled to the minute. My desire is to enjoy life not just finish a list or task. There will always be more laundry, dinners, bills, coupons and lists.

Several months ago, I decided I would not give up on learning this craft and would find someone to help me. I sent out a twitter, received a response, and set a date. Then life happened again and my date was cancelled. I was determined not to give up so easily this time.

Last week, I finally met with my friend, Coni and began learning my new craft, knitting. I am currently knitting a black scarf. ROCK Church gives scarves and hats to those who ride our vans and are in need. I am excited that my first project will be a gift for someone else.

Christmas only 7 days!

I can’t believe Christmas is almost here. I have scaled back my decorating this year because we are having a party here tonight. I have tables where tables probably shouldn’t go, but need the room.

Rebekah King asked me to post our Christmas card. I thought I would post the pic (thanks Millie Holloman Photography) I used so it would be easier to see. I just got the stamps today, so these won’t arrive before Christmas.

I have a few more holiday traditions to complete:
making gingerbread men (doing this Tuesday)
Riding with Santa while singing Christmas carols (maybe Sunday or Monday night)

Since we have cut back this year in our gift giving, I have less presents to wrap. The underneath of the tree looks kind of lonely. Only a few more presents to wrap though.
