Still trying new recipes and I actually created one on Saturday night. I had been to Harris Teeter for triple coupon day. I saved $60 with my triple coupons.
One of the items I bought with my triple coupons was a new item by Mrs. Dash called Mrs. Dash
Terriyaki Marinade. The marinade cost $2.79 and I had a $0.75 coupon. So after the coupon was tripled I paid $0.59 for the marinade. There is no sodium in the marinade a big switch from most high salt terriyaki sauces.
I made a Terriyaki stir fry with some ingredients I had at the house.
- 1.5 lbs of Flank steak
- 1 red and 2 yellow bell peppers chopped
- 1 pkg of frozen snow pea pods
- 1 15 oz.can of pineapple chunks
- 1 bottle of Mrs. Dash terriyaki marinade
First I put the chopped bell peppers and cut up flank steak in a large skillet. When the steak started to brown I added the pineapple drained no juice. Then when the steak was almost brown I added the marinade and cooked for 2 minutes. Then I added the snow pea pods cooking for 2 more minutes.
I served this over cooked white rice. I used 2 cups of uncooked rice and started it before the stir fry. This whole meal including prep time took me about 30 minutes.
