Raising Great Kids

It has been my desire to raise great kids, not perfect kids. I have talked to some people recently who were looking for how to raise great kids. There are days I have doubted if I knew how.
Over the years I have found some sources that have helped Bryan and I in the parenting process. Of course we are not done, we have three boys at home who still need guidance, instruction and discipline.
One of the books I have read ,Boundaries with Kids, has been helpful book. “When to say yes and when to say no to help your children gain control of their lives” is the tag line for the book. I need books with examples and this book gives many.
Raising Great Kids has also been a book that I have gleaned from. This book is also written by the same authors as Boundaries With Kids. There are workbooks that go with these books.
If you want to teach your kids about money, Dave Ramsey has a kids course on money, Financial Peace, jr. There are games on his website that teach kids about money. He has a teen program as well.
Potty training was probably my least favorite time as a parent. I was a frustrated parent wandering aimlessly in the dark until I heard about a book on potty training. The book was written in the 1970′s but it works. Toilet Training In Less than A Day saved my second son from potty training for months.
I have done some things right and many wrong. I am constantly learning and course correcting through this journey. Parenting is definitely not for wimps!
