Unconventional Community

This last year has brought many challenges and triumphs, and some have not  been easy to share. There are a few people who know when my heart aches and skips a beat. However, being a pastor’s wife there have been seasons where I have longed for another pw to share with or glean a different perspective.

Thanks to Leading and Loving It, I’ve been able to expand my community. Through virtual groups, online forums, and chats I have met many women online. I have connected with many and shared my heart with a few. They have challenged and encouraged me and today I have the honor of meeting some of them.

I honor Lori Wilhite, for stepping outside the norm and working to connect women in ministry. She and her team have worked tirelessly to make this happen. I am excited to be in the presence of so much estrogen for one purpose: connection.

Today, one of my dreams is coming true.

Having three growing young men and a husband, I am on constantly on the lookout for recipes that fill them up and taste great. I was quite surprised by this new recipe. I really didn’t think they would like it, but even my pickiest eater loved it. The best part is the recipe only has 6 ingredients.

Slow Cooker Beef
1 package of onion soup mix
1 can cheddar cheese soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup boiling water
1 2-3lb chuck roast
Medium to wide egg noodles

Combine the first 4 ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Place chuck roast in slow cooker cover with mixture from bowl. Cook on low 6-8 hrs. Cook noodles according to package instructions.
Serve slow cooker beef over cooked noodles.

Yummy!
