I was doing a little more decluttering in my bedroom. There has been this huge box under my bed with cards, pictures and letters that I haven’t opened in years. I decided today was the day to tackle this box.
Instead of keeping all the art projects my kids have done over the years I decided to take pictures of them with my iPhone. I will then upload them to iphoto on my macbook and store them in albums under each child’s name.
While performing the task of clearing out clutter, I found several pictures I haven’t seen in quite a while. I thought you might like to see how Bryan and I have changed. These pictures were both taken of our families about the same time, so we are the same age. Look at the styles. Wow!

Blogging this week may be a little hit and miss, since I am spending time with My Loves. I have the pleasure of being a stay at home Mom for most of the time, so I get to make homemade brownies and sleep late when they do.
We have watched movies, stayed in our PJ’s, played a little miniature golf, and spent time with friends. It’s only Tuesday!! Wow, I think I need a nap already.
Wednesday, I posted about my favorite room in our home. Yes, we use it and the boys do go in there. The slipcovers are a washable canvas. I’ve had the set since August and haven’t had to wash it yet. I picked the paint colors from a site on HGTV.com called Rate My Space. The colors are from the Ralph Lauren Collection mixed in Behr Paint.
One of the reasons I love that room is there is no clutter. No stuff, no excess, very serene. I am working on making my whole house streamlined. Yesterday, I decided that we have a TON of books just sitting on our shelves. No one is reading them and someone could be enjoying them. They are going to the public library. There are books on potty training, house training a dog, planning a trip to Disney. You name it we probably have it, but we don’t need it any more.
I follow Unclutterer it is a funny and informative site. Some of the things they talk about that are wrong I have done thinking they would help me deal with clutter, but they only make it worse. I am determined this is my year to streamline my systems and conquer this.
Please understand my house does not need to be nominated for Hoarders, but I need to get rid of some things, make sure everything has a permanent home, and toss duplicates. Too much of a good thing is still too much.
I will share with you as I work through this process of streamlining my home and my schedule.
