I love it when a plan comes together. Last week this time, I was a little stressed and not sure if all the details of todays service would come together so nicely. But because of the awesome people God has put in my life it was amazing.

On my way out of church last week, I mentioned to my friend Terri, that I was going to have to find some volunteers to help with balloons. There was a twinkle in her eye and she was so excited. She told how she helped her baseball coach with ellaborate balloon arches at the “Party Pallace”.  I of course am a detailed planner so we met on Tuesday to plan out what we would need and how this would work.

I cannot believe I actually had volunteers at the church at 6:30 am. I did have them spend the night at my house to assure they would arrive on time, and took them to Starbucks to buy them coffee. Well, I tried to buy them coffee, but since we helped the lady opening take the chairs off the tables and bring in the newspapers she gave us coffee for free. What a great start to an amazing day!!!

I watched the children being dedicated as their pictures flashed on the screens and I thanked God again for the wonderful gift of Carolyn Mejia and her tech team. What would we do without those slide shows?

As I heard “pomp and circumstance” playing for those graduates being honored as they received their Bibles, as I was  backstage helping those getting ready for baptism, I again was thankful for the details. Just something else to make it a little extra special. I heard Bryan comment on one of the graduates medal he was wearing. So glad we asked the graduates to wear their caps and gowns.

Next was the baptism and we were ready. Pastor Ron read each person’s testimony as their picture was on the screen. It was touching to hear how each person gave their life to Christ, even the children wrote their story. It was great to see a mother and her three children be baptized. I was glad to be a part of something so special.

And then Ahhh it was all over. How exciting to be a part of celebrating new beginnings in peoples lives.
