I sit here in “my”room relaxing on this Sunday afternoon. This room has a white comfy couch, chair and ottoman. Three walls are painted a light gray while the the fourth is a dark gray-brown shade. There is only lamp light and I can see the sun setting outside the double window.
This room, like me, isn’t finished yet. I have hope that this room will be done soon, but I am far from being done. I have dreams still to come true and plans to accomplish.
The last five weeks have been a challenge for our family, but my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ. I know that no matter what happens He is with me and that brings me great hope. I also know that if I act on his word he brings hope.
Today, Bryan talked about hope. One line he said that stuck with me was, “Reading the Bible doesn’t give you hope any more than reading a comic book makes you a super hero. I have to take what the Bible says and activate it in my life.”I can read it all I want, but if I do nothing with it then nothing will happen. I might be encouraged for the moment, however I will only feel encouraged and nothing will change.
