Yesterday, I had a choice to make would I choose the ministry or my son? Would I stay at church and see Kid’s ROCK take communion or take my son to receive an award?
In February, we were notified Noah had won Mid south region Pop Warner Little Scholars. For him to receive the award we would have to travel to Winston Salem, North Carolina on Saturday night and miss church on Sunday. I began searching to find out the levity of the award. I didn’t even tell Noah for several weeks he had won the award.
Finally, I discovered it was a big deal and made our arrangements. Noah and I left on Saturday and drove 3 1/2 hrs with only a 15 minute stop. We went to a nice restaurant to celebrate and then played miniature golf.
Sunday morning we made our way to the Benton Convention Center for the ceremony. Noah found his assigned seat and I found a seat as close to the front as I could. The event began and I was in awe.
Louis Frazier who played offensive guard for Wake Forest gave an inspiring speech. He shared his life story about growing up in the ghetto and graduating from high school with a 4.5 GPA. He told of the challenges that faced him, and how he perservered. His favorite scripture is found in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

So proud of Noah! He is an awesome young man. Now we know why his birth was threatened…
You made the right choice to take Noah to this award ceremony. Reinforcing and honoring exceptional accomplishments is a good thing!!
