Last year I sat and listened to Tony Morgan share the do’s and don’ts of blogging. One of the statements he made that caused me to be conflicted was to choose the target audience you want to reach and blog. I sat there and listened, but there are so many facets to me. I am probably not the normal blogger out there.
I am
- wife to the best senior pastor ever, which makes me the first lady
- mother to a teenage boy and 2 other boys, I could fill blog posts with them
- Children’s Ministry Director at ROCK Church
- a nurse
- a woman
I thought about just making my blog for CM’s, but then I would have to create another blog to share my other thoughts. This seemed like too much work. I have considered not talking about CM at all, but yesterday convinced me I am on the right track.
Speaking to someone over the phone who has been helped by your blog and reads it often, is very humbling. She is a CM director and says she has been “stalking” my blog. I also recently spoke with someone else who had read a post that deeply touched them.
So what audience are you? You may be like me and be so diverse you don’t fit one category.
