Christmas only 7 days!

logo

I can’t believe Christmas is almost here. I have scaled back my decorating this year because we are having a party here tonight. I have tables where tables probably shouldn’t go, but need the room.

Rebekah King asked me to post our Christmas card. I thought I would post the pic (thanks Millie Holloman Photography) I used so it would be easier to see. I just got the stamps today, so these won’t arrive before Christmas.

I have a few more holiday traditions to complete:
making gingerbread men (doing this Tuesday)
Riding with Santa while singing Christmas carols (maybe Sunday or Monday night)

Since we have cut back this year in our gift giving, I have less presents to wrap. The underneath of the tree looks kind of lonely. Only a few more presents to wrap though.

What a day!

p>The weekend was very busy with Christmas shopping, parties and taking care of a sick husband. When Sunday morning came, I was extremely tired. The boys and I arrived at church and as they do every Sunday they helped me finish the set up.

I put on a CD of Christmas music and when the kids came in, I was energized by their hugs. With a froggy voice, I led them in worship to our King.

This month I have been leading “Hit the Slopes” from Life Church.tv. It is a different format, but I love it. I think I have the format down and I am working on next years curriculum with a vengeous.

Last night, Noah our son had a party at the Skate Barn. He is an amazing 11 year old. I love him very much and I am proud of him. He is smart, loving, caring and a good friend. Noah understands how to live out 1 Corinthians 13.

What a great end to a wonderful day!

Wacky Thursday

Have you ever read the book Wacky Wednesday by Dr. Seuss? It is one of my favorite books. I think I like it because I can relate to the book.

Instead of a Wacky Wednesday, I had a Wacky Thursday. Bryan had surgery on Wednesday and I only slept about 4 hours. Wednesday night he had a choking episode at 2:30 am, after seeing about him I was awake for good.

There are many events throughout the day that were quite wacky, but none as crazy as what I did Thursday night. I needed to pick up 2 prescriptions, one for Bryan and one for me. Mine was being called in from Duke and Bryan’s was a refill.

I went to the first pharmacy and asked for my prescription. The lady checked the whole system and no prescription. I assumed the Dr. forgot to call it in.

Across the street I go to another pharmacy and needed to go inside to of course get milk, too. It was pouring down rain and I was already soaked from taking the trash to the street at home. I went in the second pharmacy and asked for Bryan’s prescription. No refill for him and they had never filled that for him before. A light bulb went off in my head, “Do you have a prescription for Jennifer McGee?” The clerk presented the prescription.

So back to the first pharmacy to retrieve Bryan’s prescription. I felt like an idiot! After realizing I’d only had 8 hrs sleep over two days I didn’t feel as stupid!
