Not Prepared

I have been a pastor’s wife for 14 years and on staff at ROCK Church for 3 1/2 years. I was a nurse for almost 12 years and nothing could have prepared me for today.
Today, Nana and I drove to UNC-Chapel Hill hospital to be with a family whose baby was airlifted there yesterday. There has been a fight for this child’s life from before he was born, and he must have an amazing destiny.
The parents were glad we made the trip and I was honored to be there. Spending time with the parents encouraged me. They are wonderful people who love Jesus and share his love with those around them. They look for an opportunity to help someone else even in the middle of what they are going through.
As children’s director, I have made many hospital visits but none quite like this. Having two premature infants, praying for this child took me back to those days in ICU. My heart was moved for this mother and I ached for her.
I am thankful that I am apart of a church that loves one another and cares for another. Please pray with me for this family.

I’ve known this mother for quite some time and she is an incredble woman. I had the opportunity to visit her in the hospital when she was still pregnant and was confined to bed. She sacrificed and is sacrificing much for this child because she knows the value of his life. She took every opportunity she had to speak into the lives of the other mothers and was instrument in comfort, joy and truth for them. I imagine she is doing the same again. I thank God He is faithful in this storm and will bring forth the promises He has for this family!
read my dear friend patience’s blog from the beginning of their story- babyleino.blogspot.com. it will tear you up. she and her husband are both worship leaders at C3 Church, but i’ve witnessed them leading worship more off stage than anywhere else. God worked mightily in their journey. awesome inspiration for those going thru complications with a new baby.
It is amazing how God has worked in the life of this family and this little boy recently. Prayer definitely changes things. I’m so glad you were able to minister to them during this tough time. I know it made a huge impact.
