My turn

This year it is my turn to make the turkey. My sister in law, Abbye, has cooked the bird the last few years. I talked to her about the recipe and I am a little nervous. It is a big bird!

I found an article about brining turkeys. Who has something big enough to brine a 22 lb turkey? This article recommended using a cooler and pouring the brine over the turkey. It is working great!

I love Thanksgiving! The food, family and the movie. Each year we pick a movie to see in the afternoon, and this years movie is Bolt.

Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions?

i always make my dad’s mom’s cornbread dressing. my mom’s dad always does chicken n dressing but he shreds it and mixes both all in one pot. different but yummy. and my mom always takes leftover turkey and makes turkey noodle soup w/ sliced carrots a few days after. pretty good.

rebekah kings last blog post..Humbly grateful

We come home that evening and put up the tree together and decorate while we listen to Lonestar’s Christmas album. That’s what we’ve done for the last five years or so.

So, was it yummy?? I’m sure it was.
