Choosing Curriculum

has not been an easy task in all the levels. Sometimes I could find a curriculum that was fun, stimulating, and taught Biblical principles, but too time consuming for teachers and volunteers to work with.

Here are some ways I have looked for curriculum:

  • Google search children’s ministry curriculum
  • Look on other churches websites to see what curriculum they use
  • Subscribe to children’s ministry blogs about what is the new upcoming curriculum and read reviews
  • Check out children’s ministry magazine for ads and then research
  • Talk to other children’s ministry directors and pastors about what they like and dislike about their current curriculum

I only buy the smallest portion of curriculum. If something else is released or if the publisher changes what I am using, then I am not stuck with a whole years worth of curriculum.

Here are some of the curriculums I use:

Elevate : Love it! Can’t wait for Elevate jr.

Lifeway: for babies, moving to Radiant Baby

Hands on Bible: have to do a lot of adjusting to this curriculum

In the Beginning: changing this to Elevate jr. when it is released
