What to do the day of surgery when it isn’t until 5:00 pm?

  • Slept till 10:30 am with a few interruptions
  • Can’t leave the house due to aftershocks from the prep.
  • No eating or drinking….
  • Dream about the mac and cheese I just saw on Martha Stewart. Maybe Abbye will make me some of her famous mac and cheese while I am recovering.
  • Don’t have to spend much time getting ready can’t wear makeup or any jewelry. Did get a new outfit to wear to the hospital Megan and Jen helped me pick it out.
  • Change the sheets on my bed
  • Clean my bathroom….Maybe I will leave it for Bryan
  • Do some online shopping sounds like a better idea!
  • Watch a chick movie

Today is Monday and I should be in the office wrapping up from yesterday, but I am prepping for removal of the “orange“. I am actually looking forward to surgery because the pain is pretty intense.  I never thought I would say that I was ready for surgery. I have been trying to prevent surgery since the end of September, but now I am ready.

So here is what I will be doing over the next two weeks:

  • Prepping today (trust me no fun)
  • Surgery tomorrow
  • Laying low the rest of this week
  • On Sunday, February 3rd my team has it under control with Megan handling anything that comes her way.
  • Monday, February 4th, Valerie Bowden is meeting me at the house to plan our next Club Rock theme “Shipwrecked Island” for March and April.
  • Working on VBS and long range goals for this year.
  • Sunday,February 10th be back at service.
