In Faithstation, this week we learned about Miracles. The children acted out three of Jesus’ miracles; calming the storm, raising Lazarus from the dead, and healing the blind man by spitting in some dirt. It was great to see their enthusiasm as they played their parts.
Our verse for this week is found in the book of Acts.
Acts 2:22(NLT) People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders and signs through him, as you well know.
It is official the Christmas season is here because the “red cups” have arrived. Every year I long for the arrival of the red cups from Starbucks with their witty seasonal sayings. I know some of you may think I am out of my mind, but I love Christmas and my very favorite part of it is giving gifts or is it decorating or maybe baking?
This year I get double the pleasure of decorating. I have been the overseer of decorating at my house for 13 years and this year I have the honor of doing it at the Kid’s ROCK wing. As I sat in my office on Wednesday, I was planning the decorating. Everything for the classrooms was coming together great. I had been gathering ideas from things I had seen at places like the pediatric dentist office, but then there is the issue of the hallway. How do you decorate a very long hallway that becomes full of children has a motion detector, block walls and the list goes on?
Carolyn suggested fiberoptics. I was willing if she would pay for it. So we are not having fiberoptics down our big huge hallway. However, there will be decorations formed at the hands of volunteers. I can’t wait to see how beautiful it will be. I want to be there when the first childs eyes come in contact with the decorations. When they say, “How’d ya do that?” I want to tell them. “God helped us. He gave us the idea and He helped us figure it all out.”
