On Monday during our staff meeting, Bryan handed each staff member a book,” Chase the Lion” a study from the book “In a Pit With a Lion On a Snowy Day” by Mark Batterson. He explained that we would be going through this book together over the next 6 weeks.

I have read the first two chapters of “In a Pit With a Lion On a Snowy Day” and can’t wait to read the rest. The book is based on an obscure verse of scripture 2 Samuel 23:20-23 about a man named Benaiah who found himself in a pit with a lion on a snowy day and killed the lion. He was a lion chaser he didn’t run from the lion, but  he stayed to fight the lion.

I want to be a lion chaser and run after opportunity.

Weekend Recap

Since Bryan and Abbye have rambled I thought I would too. Sometimes there is just too much too say in a post from the weekend. And it has been a busy weekend!

  • Friday starts our weekend and my lovely husband helped me reset the sound in the Theater (formerly called the youth and children’s auditorium). He is amazing! This was necessary because we had new staging built by some of the men of The ROCK. (Joe Boyer, Mark McAllister and Anthony Rowell)
  • Bryan is going with his Dad on a trip in November and needs a new passport so off to Fedex. I have been selling old unused curriculum and needed to ship this as well. Cleaning out storage and making a good amount of money. Note to self: avoid Fedex on Fridays.
  • Adam had been complaining of his ears hurting and I took him to the Dr. Botros his Ear doctor. Both ears are infected.
  • Off to celebrate Don’s birthday at Elizabeth’s pizza. This is Bryan’s favorite restaurant because it is so quiet.
  • Saturday morning football. Noah made 13 tackles. It was a defensive game and Noah played his heart out. We lost our first game of the season 6-0. It was a hard day.
  • Off to go shopping for a pair of glasses for Gabriel. Costco was the best price.
  • Tired after a long day we watched a family movie together.
  • Sunday game day. The excitement overtakes me on Sunday morning as I am getting everything together. May we impact the life of the kids in such a way that they come to know Christ.  It was a great day! As I have spoken with each of the teachers in the classes and touched base with them, I am encouraged about the impact we are making.
  • Off to Life Chain to stand for the life of the unborn. Bryan and I have been going to Life Chain for many years. I remember taking Gabriel as a baby.
  • I skipped out on Financial Peace. Sorry Todd and Stephanie. I was so tired and I have the DVD of that particular class. Bryan went and represented our family.

Well, here I am at Monday morning. Did I accomplish what God had for me? Did you?
