A Heart’s Full

Have you ever had so much in your heart that you thought you would explode. That is how I felt after spending this past weekend in Gainesville with Pastors George and Suzanne Brantley. As many of you know this week has been another adventure for the McGee family, and it made it difficult for Bryan and I to leave.

We had landed in Atlanta airport when we received the final report. Even though we decided early on in our marriage to not be moved by our circumstances, God created us with emotions. We had some emotions right in the middle of the airport and then we did what we always do, trust God.

This trip could not have come at a better time for me. As you read in my early post, I have been nursing and taking care of those that have been dear to me. Sometimes that can take a toll on your body, and I needed to rest not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

We arrived to Gainesville Thursday evening and went to dinner with Pastor Svend and his wife Katy. We caught up with them and find out what their three boys are all doing. We were pretty tired from the days events and they took us to pick up the Scion we would be driving for the weekend. It was plastered with a Rock vehicle wrap. We retired to the lovely condo we were staying in and I became one with the couch. Pastor George called to welcome us and asked if we had breakfast plans. Friday was our since most of the staff would be busy with graduation so we scheduled breakfast with Pastors George and Suzanne.

I was so excited to have breakfast with them. They pulled up to the condo on a motorcycle and Bryan was wishing he had his to ride. We followed them to this unique restaurant where we sat for the next 3 hours and talked. They have so much wisdom to share and impart.

Friday night was the whole reason we were there. It was time for graduation. I had found my dress for the graduation dinner in one morning with Pastor Norma and Bryan. It was black with big white polka dots. I have these red patent shoes and I wanted some big chunky jewlery to wear with it. My friend Terri knew I was busy taking care of sick people so she found my jewelry for me. Of course the dress was on sale and the jewelry was a great price.

Bryan spoke on trusting God to direct your path, but that you must choose. He shared the story of jumping out of the airplane and the parrallels to God. The audience was transfixed on him.

Saturday he spent fishing with Pastor George on the Swanee River while Pastor Suzanne and I shopped. We told stories and laughed and cried. She loves to shop and find a bargain. I would come out of the dressing room and she would say, “You have to get that it looks great on you.”

Sunday morning we went to church at The Rock of Gainesville. Pastor George has been preaching on forgiveness. They have been giving their congregation a book on forgiveness by Paul Meyer. I read it on the way home yesterday. It is the best book on forgiveness I have ever read. I am going to read it again.

So even with another adventure my heart is full. I have been refreshed and have had some much needed “Honey” time. I have a new revelation on forgiveness. I have been poured into by some amazing people.

I had a great time with you in Gainesville. Pastors George and Suzanne are awesome and their church is amazing. But, it’s not home and not our church.

I guess I can now mark off being a keynote speaker from my list. Time to move on to something else.

I love you.
